Both thicknesses use a multi-walled construction, but the 35mm option has additional internal chambers, giving it improved thermal performance and a small increase in rigidity across larger spans. The 25mm option is a popular choice for smaller or budget-conscious projects where cost is the main driver, while 35mm suits larger conservatories or anyone who wants to push the insulation performance closer to that of a double-glazed glass roof. This means you’re not restricted to a “budget” style – the same architectural options are available, regardless of the glazing material you choose.

Yes. At Art On Glass, the eaves beam and box gutter system used across our roofs is designed to support larger openings, including bi-fold and sliding doors, and can be reinforced with an internal bolster where wider spans are needed.

Box gutters are self-supporting and independent of the eaves beam, which avoids the need for unsightly gallows brackets and keeps the finished look clean regardless of the glazing you choose.

Quality multi walled polycarbonate is manufactured with a UV resistant coating designed to protect against yellowing and degradation from sun exposure over many years.

At Art On Glass, we only specify polycarbonate from reputable suppliers. As with any exterior building material, some gradual weathering is normal over a long service life, but a well-specified roof shouldn’t discolour noticeably or become brittle within its expected lifespan.

Our roofs are backed by a 10 year product guarantee, giving you confidence in the long term performance of both the aluminium structure and the polycarbonate glazing.

At Art On Glass, we also provide our own guarantee for the installation work itself, since a product guarantee typically doesn’t cover workmanship.
