Key Features

Here’s why a polycarbonate roof could be the right fit for your conservatory.

Cost-Effective

Polycarbonate panels offer a more affordable alternative to glass, without compromising on the strength or versatility of the roof structure beneath them.

Tough & Durable

Multi-walled polycarbonate is tough, weather resistant and significantly lighter than glass, reducing the load on your existing conservatory walls.

Flexible Pitch Range

Our roof system accommodates pitches from 2.5 degrees on a lean-to through to 37.5 degrees on a standard gable, Georgian or Victorian style.

Designed to Suit Your Home

At Art On Glass, we offer polycarbonate roofs in the same wide choice of styles as our glass roofs, including lean to, Victorian, Georgian and gable end designs, so you can match the roof to your existing conservatory or new extension.

Panels come in 25mm or 35mm thicknesses, with frames available in white, rosewood or grey grained foil as standard. Bespoke RAL colours are also available for a fully personalised finish.

The Same Engineering, A More Affordable Finish

Polycarbonate roofs use the same box-section eaves beam and box gutter system as our glass roofs, giving you a strong, stable structure that can span wide openings for bi-fold or sliding doors.

Ridge and wall plate options, along with a choice of glazing bar cappings, mean you don’t have to compromise on style just because you’ve chosen a more budget-friendly glazing option.

FAQs

How does polycarbonate compare to glass?

Polycarbonate is significantly lighter than glass, which reduces the load on your existing conservatory walls and can make installation quicker and less disruptive. Multi walled polycarbonate also offers good solar heat reflection, helping to prevent your conservatory from overheating on sunny days while still allowing plenty of natural light through.

The key benefit is clarity. Glass gives a clearer view of the sky, while polycarbonate has a slightly more diffused, frosted appearance. At Art On Glass, we find that for most homeowners prioritising cost and practicality over an uninterrupted view, polycarbonate offers a genuinely comparable level of comfort at a lower price point.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have spent 50 years in the construction Industry, most at senior management levels, and am very impressed with the way that Art On Glassreacted from the initial enquiry through to completion. Great customer approach and the site team were all outstanding. Although not the the cheapest they were definitely great value for money, companies that gave me lower, and higher quotations, did not give me the confidence that they had the depth of knowledge and expertise that Art On Glass exhibited.

Paul and Mason arrived on time and were polite and professional. They did a great job of replacing the back patio doors and left everything clean and tidy afterwards. I was very pleased with the end result and wouldn't hesitate to use Art On Glass again or recommend them to friends and family.
